Dona Rona

Dramedy

Co-production opportunity between Israel and Italy

Rona, a fiercely independent Israeli with zero patience for drama, discovers she’s pregnant after a summer fling in Italy. Determined to do the right thing, she decides to tell Giovanni — never imagining she’s about to land in the middle of his family’s mafia dynasty. Suddenly, Rona finds herself caught in arranged marriage plans, cries for a Catholic heir, and the iron will of a mother-in-law who believes fresh orange juice is the cure for everything.

But the chaos doesn’t end there. When Rona’s own Israeli family crashes the scene — led by her police-chief mother, her rabbinical uncle, and her tradition-obsessed father — the stage is set for a spectacular cultural collision.

Between Italian Catholic grandeur and Israeli Jewish intensity, Rona becomes the center of a hilarious identity storm. Dona Rona is a bold, heart-filled romantic comedy where The Godfather meets Fleabag, blending mafia melodrama, family madness, and sharp humor into a universal story about love, tolerance, and finding common ground in the most unexpected places.

Because in the end, no matter how different our families, cultures, or beliefs… we’re all the same.
