Exceptional is a heartfelt and engaging teen drama blending emotion, suspense, and romance. At its core are Maya and her sister Alona—two very different girls navigating identity, love, and acceptance in a complex social world.
 

Maya is a stylish, outgoing teen star and a member of the “Glitch Crew,” an online comedy channel she runs with her friends Shir and Michael. Her boyfriend, Jordan, is a pampered tennis prodigy who becomes entangled in a cover-up after a hit-and-run bike accident.
 

Meanwhile, Alona’s life centers around the sailing club, where she finds a sense of belonging among teens with special needs—like Sivan, who has Down syndrome, and Maor, who is on the spectrum and secretly in love with her.

Eli, the group’s sailing instructor, also has a brother on the spectrum and becomes a bridge between Maya’s world and Alona’s. As Maya starts falling for Eli, Alona seeks Maya’s approval by dating a neurotypical boy. But beneath the surface, two suspenseful threads threaten to unravel everything: Jordan’s crime and Eli’s involvement with a criminal gang, desperate for money to help his brother.
