Gaza Syndrome is a three-part documentary series from Israeli public broadcaster Kan 11 that offers the full story of Gaza from the Israeli perspective, tracing the history of the Gaza Strip from its formation in 1948 to the Hamas-led attack on October 7, 2023.

Through rare archival footage and in-depth interviews with key figures from Israel, Palestine, Egypt, and beyond — including historians, politicians, and public voices like Jean-Pierre Filiu, Mustafa Barghouti, and former hostage Ada Sagi — the series examines the pivotal decisions, policies, and turning points that have shaped the region’s modern reality.

From Gaza’s emergence as the heart of the Palestinian nation to the cycles of conflict and the build-up toward October 7, Gaza Syndrome delivers a journalistic, non-partisan account of a decades-long story whose repercussions continue to resonate today.
